The Portland Project. Wander and wonder. Make your own path.

The Portland Project began with a road trip to Oregon - with disconnecting from the daily grind and restoring our attention to the world around us. With letting our minds wander, as well as our feet. The design team immersed themselves in the region, exploring the rugged coastline and trekking through mountains and forests.

A coordinating LVT and modular carpet collection, The Portland Project is not a literal interpretation of what we observed in our travel. Instead, the collection evokes our experiences of wandering, wonder and discovery. The collection draws on the adventurous human spirit that brings us closer to our environment. Our inspiration came not simply from what we saw, but rather from that feeling of never knowing what beautiful viewpoint might lie just around the bend.

The variety of styles within The Portland Project allows for interpretation in innovative design compositions: designers can conceptualize and realize their own personal vision for a space, whether a bold combination of colors and patterns or subtle understatement. The spirit of the trip is captured in the collection’s four unique LVT styles: two coordinating abstract patterns and two wood grains, offered in 6”x48” planks, and three luxurious modular carpet styles, offered in 12"x48" planks.

Visually, the styles harken to Oregon’s secluded ridgelines and trail heads, represented as sharp liner movements and layered striations of color in the collection. Patterns mix large and small scale, and hues range from richly saturated to neutral, coastal-inspired grays and browns. The Portland Collection’s luxurious textures—both loop and tip shear— and the designers’ thoughtful approach to classic and emerging color trends — combined with the flexibility and durability of LVT — makes the collection perfect for corporate, retail, higher education and hospitality projects.
